The project comprises a new geothermal spa and high-end hotel in Þjórsárdalur Valley in Iceland. The building is carved into a rocky mountain and covered in part with the volcanic materials of the site. The natural rock is always present in the interior of the building. Large window facades provide wonderful views of the surrounding landscape.
The building houses 40 hotel rooms, VIP lounges, a library, restaurant areas, a café and bathing facilities. Geothermal water is extracted from the site creating the basis of a unique bathing experience that is representative of the site.
