DESCRIPTION

The congregational assembly is an extension to the church designed by Manfreð Vilhjálmsson and Þorvaldur S. Þorvaldsson. It´s joined to the church by a big stairwell three stories high; In between an office-wing, group-rooms and the assembly. The stairwell serves simultaneously as a crossing and an event hall. The architecture of the congregational assembly is influenced by the simplicity of the church regarding the space formation and choice of materials. The interaction with the environment is at the same time of great importance.
